How to train the junk/spam filter using a mail client?

How do I mark mails as Junk/Spam when using a mail client (like Thunderbird)?

When I press the "Junk mail" button in Thunderbird, the mail gets tagged as "Junk" and will be moved into the "Junk" folder. Does the mailbox.org server recognize this to train its internal filter? Or do I always have to mark Mails via the Web-frontend?
