Hi there,

we recommend the use of FreeOTP for 2FA with our service. You can get it via F-Droid.

Please also see this guide for further information:

Hi--I have read that page before posting and I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

I change the token to time based and I scan the QR code. It generates a 30 second OTP on the Authy app, but when i login to mailbox.org via the web browser, i am not asked for my 2FA code.

I am aware of FreeOTP but I prefer using Authy and I don't feel like installing another app just for email.

Which token type am I supposed to use for authy? I have already created two tokens (I believe iPhone OAUTH app and HTOP token, but I cannot be positive now)--neither worked.

Lastly, I am confused as to why I need to create a 4 digit PIN for setting up 2FA? I have never done that before.

Thanks

You might want to try and use the FreeOTP as a step in troubleshooting.

Regarding the 4 digit PIN, it would have to be used in addition to the generated token and you would enter this combination in the regular "password" field as shown in the above linked document.

I just tried with Authy and it worked in my case. I had to select a "time based" token instead of the default "event based" token while generating the QR code.
