Syncing tasks with Thunderbird does not work

Following the guide provided here to sync tasks doesn't work for me. As far as I can see the problem is that the tasks doesn't have a "property" to be shared, if I use the link provided under "Permissions/Invite people" and follow the instructions Thunderbird reports the calendar as not available.

Similar/same thing reported here 10 Month ago: https://userforum-en.mailbox.org/topic/shared-tasks-have-no-caldav-url

But no solution provided, maybe new ticket helps!

I'm experiencing the same issue and I'd like to use tasks within Thunderbird. Since mailbox.org's tasks actually work with other desktop email clients I assume the issue is mostly on Thunderbird's side. Hopefully they fix it, but it would be nice if mailbox.org would look into that as well.

Thanks.

This is happening to me as well, cannot append any task from Thunderbird

I've found a workaround for this. Download DAVx⁵ (DAVdroid) app for Android, login to your account and it will show you all your calendars and task lists (similar as OX Sync). There you can display the task list's Properties with the URL needed for Thunderbird.

Brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing this!

It works! But it doesn't ask for username and password in thunderbird. I wonder if it's public?

Great, thanks for the workaround.

Hi everyone, the easiest set-up for this is to use tbsync(which is free and maintained)

https://addons.thunderbird.net/fr/thunderbird/addon/tbsync/

If you add your general calendar, all the caldav tasks will show and you will be able to select which one you want to show.

Now tasks will show as calendars, and everything gets synchronised but the only issue is that you cannot move one task from one task calendar to another.

If anybody has a solution for this, I would be happy to hear, I am trying to see if the support can help, as thunderbird is not a small e-mail client.

Kind regards,

In last post I proposed Tbsync extension to thunderbird and it does the job very well and for free.

I also said that you could not move one task from one calendar to another but the mailbox.org team proposed me as a solution to copy and paste task in the thunderbird task list and it works great !
