Left swipe and delete without needing to press delete again in pop up window?

One of the most irritating usability issues I am encountering is the apparent need to press delete in the pop up window after I have left swiped and chosen to delete an email. Is there a way to just delete directly without having to repeat the instruction? If there is not, please add that option. If there is, where can I turn this off?
