Solved: did not find the possibility to generate 3rd party email programms

I did set up the new login while logging in today. I am using a FreeOTP 2FA app for login currently.

Ok, disregard, the menu does not correspond to the infos on the web, so I now found that there are two entries and not one, one for "external applications" and one for "email programs". Setup seems to work now. A point of critique: the passwords generated are ambigous by letters so between l and I (l and i) you cannot distinguish which may make the life unduely difficult to some user.
