The submitted alias is invalid

This problem was already submitted, but as an idea, not a problem. So here it is again.

When I try to create an alias I get the error "The submitted alias is invalid"

Are there any rules for an Alias?

What to do?

An update. I tried a few other alias adresses and finally I was able to create an Alias. My best guess is that there are a lot of email addresses that already exist. Perhaps, the error should give a bit more info about why it is invalid.

You do get a different message when the account already exists. It says "The account name already exists".

It doesn't last forever however since Mailbox recycles email addresses after a while, which depends on the subscription and usage (they should really stop doing this).

Anyway there are characters that are illegal and will throw an "invalid" message, capital letters for example. It seems nothing is written about what is considered invalid in the Mailbox FAQ.
