Cannot send email: SASL login name rejected

Hello Everyone,

Since couple of day I cannot send email through the mailbox.org website. each time I have this error :

Message could not be sent to the following recipients: ¨Recipient name¨<¨Recipient mail¨> (554 - 554 5.7.1 <"my mailbox.org email">: SASL login name rejected: Access denied)

Do you have an idea of the reason?

Hi,

It looks like your account has been hacked by spammers. For security reasons, we have blocked your account. Please change your mailbox.org and all other passwords of accounts linked to this email account immediately and let us know afterwards.

What you should do now

Please check whether the attacker has set up forwarding to an external mailbox.

To do this, go to the web interface and

1. go to Settings | Read and write e-mail | Rules

and make sure that no unknown rules or ‘Automatic forwarding’ are active. If necessary, also check your own rules for any changes that may have been made.

2. go to Settings | Read and write e-mail | Advanced settings

and check whether an unknown email address is entered under ‘Always add to BCC’ and remove it.

For your own security, we also recommend changing the passwords for accounts linked to your mailbox. These include online shops, social media, online banking, and other mailboxes. Be sure to use different passwords for personal accounts. This simple measure will limit the potential damage caused by the disclosure of a password.

Identity theft may also occur, as a third party could have obtained the necessary information by accessing your mailbox. You can raise awareness among your friends and acquaintances about this issue.

If you have reason to believe that your device has a computer virus, you should run a test with an antimalware-software (e.g. malwarebytes, heise desinfect, etc.) as changing the password wouldn't suffice.

Please make sure to perform this scan of your computer's harddisk from an external device like a usb stick.

Another important point is to always keep your system and the software used up to date. This is the only way to close security gaps that could be used by attackers.

Ho I understand now...
Do you know when it was ? I change my password couple of days ago and activate 2FA because of a hack to another email account.
I will change my password again.
There is nothing in Rules neither in advance setting/ always ad to BBC.
Thank you for your help !
Could you reactivate my account ?
