Automatically show received invites as provisional in calendar

Hi there,

is there a way to automatically have a calendar invite I receive by email show up as a provisional event in my calendar? Other services I use can do that.

I have the setting

"Automatically apply appointment changes received via email to your calendar" set to "Always" but that doesn't seem to do it.

I don't always catch invites among my mails right away, and have missed a few meeting invites that way.

Thanks!

Seconding this. To see incoming events in a CalDav calendar client before they are accepted/tentative/declined is an important feature.

I ran some tests. In the web calendar, provisional events do show as "reserved" correctly. However, they will not show in a calendar client (unless I open up the web calendar).

To elaborate:

when I receive an invite to an event, the event does not appear in my CalDav synced calendar client until I respond to the invite in the email by clicking accept or tentative.

However, I have noticed, if I open up Mailbox.org's browser web calendar, the provisional event will then show up in CalDav. So it seems like it almost works?

Just saw this - it seems to be working for me now, although I read mail in a mix of Thunderbird, iOS mail.app, and webmail, so not sure if that just confirms your observation.

Are you finding the provisional events showing up right away, before viewing in web or accepting via email?

If you are, then i wonder why mine is not :/

For me its annoying on mobile, because I have no way to accept an incoming event. On mobile (Thunderbird with Davx5 Android) I don't even get the option to accept/decline in email.

I just tested it - sent myself an invite from another account, and checked on my phone (using iCal on IOS built in calendar) and it shows up just fine. So it seems to be working now.

hmm. It's definitely not working for me. I wonder what is different.

From an external account, I sent an invite to Mailbox without opening the Mailbox web based calendar. I waited 24 hrs and no update on phone calendar client (DAVx5) or desktop calendar client (CalDAV).

I open Mailbox web calendar and it shows correctly. And then the clients correctly update..

Gah!
