Bad sender address syntax (SMTP)
Proposed
Hello,
trying to set-up, without success, a MikroTik network device to send email via SMTP;
from="TEST - this | Device"
user="my@domain.org"
password="myPassword"
server="smtp.mailbox.org"
port=587
tls=starttls
error in the log report:
send MAIL FROM: <TEST - this | Device>
recv: 501 5.1.7 Bad sender address syntax
any suggestion on what is the cause?
Gmail was working, just changed server, user and password.
Thanks

Replace the from with your e-mail address/alias and try again. I have no idea why Google accepts this.
