How does mailbox.org go from an email to a text document for hashing?
I have gotten 3 emails from a sender, which apparently attempt to have digital signatures.
For the most recent of these, mailbox.org reports
"This Email was signed and verified."
, but for the two previous ones, mailbox.org reports
"This Email was signed and failed verification."
.
I notice that the failed-verification emails each had a Copy address,
whereas the signed-and-verified email did not have a Copy address,
so I am suspecting that the issue may be due to a difference between
how the sender went from emails to text documents
and
how mailbox.org goes from emails to text documents
.
(For example, it could be something as simple as,
using "CC" vs "Copy" for those other recipients.)
Do you know how mailbox.org goes from an email to a
text document, prior to hashing, for verifying a signature?
