Hi All!

I'm a dinosaur. I still use Eudora for Mac v6.2.4 on a Snow Leopard (Mac OS 10.6.8) parallels virtual machine. I'm trying to see if it's possible to use this client with a Mailbox.org account, but so far I've been unsuccessful. Can anyone help?

Attached are screen shots of some of the relevant settings screens, maybe they'll be useful.

Hi DT,

I’m not using Eudora or POP3 for my email, but I’m fairly sure that Kerberos should be turned off. Kerberos is an authentication protocol, while mailbox.org uses a standard password-based method. So, try disabling the Kerberos option. Also, APOP is probably not the right setting since it encrypts the username and password internally. Instead, switch to the “passwords” option. Don’t worry about your credentials—since you have SSL enabled for POP, the connection is still transport-encrypted.

If that still doesn’t work, it’s a bit difficult to provide more detailed guidance without knowing what other settings or dropdowns are available. In that case, you might consider using IMAP instead, as it may be better supported. For further help, you can check out this page, which unfortunately isn’t directly available in English, but can be read through Google Translate.

P.S. If you’re using two-factor authentication (2FA), remember that the mail client password is not the PIN+TOTP combination. Instead, use the normal password you can set in your mailbox.org settings.

Best wishes,
Marvin S.
