Mailbox.org rejected email from US Postal Service

I recently changed my email address for the USPS website to `usps@mycustomdomain` where `mycustomdomain.com` MX records point to an e-mail aliasing service (addy.io). I was notified by addy.io of a failed delivery where the mail server is `mxext1.mailbox.org` and the Sender is `USPostalService@usps.com`. The code is as follows:

smtp; 554 5.7.0 Reject, id=945477-18 - BANNED: image/gif,.image,.gif,noname2,uspslogo@usps.com

Did mailbox.org reject this email because it has a gif in it? Why does mailbox.org not allow receiving gifs?

See attachment for my spam settings. I have "content spam filter" set to Normal.

For sure it's not blocked because of a gif in it. That would be stupid, would be without any reason and would block many, many e-mails.
Hard to say without having deep dive into it.

But: Looks like (!) they named they file "uspslogo@usps.com". Have they? I'm not sure what field is here in the response line, but would make sens it if is the filename.

If they name their file after a mailaddress (including an @ ?!) and they name a file with the extension ".com" it looks like a (fake) or even hidden executable ("setup.exe" "foobar.com"), Looks like an executable is faked as an image file. Then there would be very good reasons to block a (very suspiciours) windows exe file to protect the user against attacks.

If you have their mails somewhere, please have a look for their filename.

Otherwise please open a ticket and our helpdesk team will have deep dive into the logs.

I do not think they named the file "uspslogo@usps.com". Here are the full contents of the eml file pasted to pastebin (because it's 1612 lines) : https://pastebin.com/FPKLtj3q

The password to access the file is B316bDT8K2

I will remove the file after you've seen it.
