How do I filter TO and FROM field with an exact e-mail match but not name match?

How do I filter TO and FROM field with an exact e-mail match but not name match using the "Filter Rules" UI? What I tried so far:

- Using "Contains" with "a@b.c" as a filter rule. However, an e-mail from "a@b.c.d" would match as well, wouldn't it, and therefore allow forgery?

- But if I use "Matches" with "a@b.c" as a filter rule, then any name around it seems to break the match for some reason, e.g. "a@b.c" doesn't seem to match "test [less than]a@b.c[greater than]".

So how do I do a direct exact e-mail match with ignoring the name? Or is "Matches" meant to work but there's some sort of bug? I can't figure it out.

i use condition: email address - header to / part all - is exactly a@b.c

action: file into - selected folder and all emails sent to a@b.c go in that folder

I don't understand what you mean with "exact e-mail match but not name match"

do you need every email addressed exactly to a@b.c go into a specific folder and every email that comes exactly from b@a.b go into another specific folder?

A rule that matches a@b.c and no other e-mail address(!) for example, yes. That doesn't seem to be easily possible. As soon as somebody puts a name in front of it, like "Firstname Lastname a@b.c" with the angle brackets that this forum won't allow me to write, it doesn't match anymore. I assume a "Contains" rule will match other e-mail addresses from a different TLD as well.

Hm, it doesn't seem to be working for BCC. How would I do it for a BCC match?

sorry i don't use filters for cc or bcc but if when you create a rule you click on the “?” in the upper right corner there is a mini guide that can help you

by clicking on adding a condition the guide says: "In order to consider the BCC part, select Envelope - To. Envelope includes the email recipients entered in the To, CC or BCC field."
