App Password for XMPP
Proposed
Can I create app passwords for XMPP (Jabber) to segment those clients off of my main password? I am looking forward to continued rollout of the email app passwords and login 2.0 from the blog post a month ago.
Access denied
No connection
Real-time notifications may not work
I like this idea
Currently no. Hopefully someday, yes.

I too would like to use the service's XMPP, but I really do not want to use my account password in an XMPP app, obviously, because it is a huge room for the password leaking.
Basically, wo the app XMPP password Mailbox's XMPP is a white elephant for any privacy conscious user.
BTW I encourage people to use at least one decentralized e2e XMPP for messaging to give an opportunity for other people to communicate with u using it. Otherwise we stuck with meta-google harvesting our conversations.

And their XMPP Server seems to be outdated:

currently it seams that even with the password of the mailbox itself you cannot use the xmpp any more because login is denied (expecting obviously a separate password which we know cannot be generated).
using the torrified version and gajim under Linux (Tumbleweed).
Or did anybody succeed to use gajim torrified with mailbox.org and the password once the 2.0 login is activated?
