OX Drive synchronisation fails with mailbox.org beta

Paul Rankin shared this problem 20 days ago

Using the beta Drive files created on mailbox.org are inaccessible locally via OX Drive and vice versa. That is, a file created on mailbox.org will fail to sync locally via the OX Drive app, and a file created locally and synced via the OX Drive app will get a HTTP 500 error.

I'm experiencing similar issues, in addition to OX Drive for desktop failing to finishing synchronizing (it pauses itself, and resuming doesn't help).

It is also not possible to view or download files in Drive online.

Update. Reported this and after adjustments made it's no longer an issue for me.

It's still the same for me. What adjustments did you make?

Apologies, I wasn’t clear. Supporting made some adjustments and now I don’t have the issue I mentioned above. However, I have now just had time to check your issue and I too have it. I created a document online and although I can see it on my Mac, it is not possible to download it or open. As you said, it doesn’t sync. Did you report the bug?

Thanks. Reported via support. Hopefully it's an easy fix.

Reported the bug this morning.

Has anyone found a solution for this yet? OX Drive for Android is syncing fine, but not OX Drive for Windows.

They didn’t find a fix yet, but I switched the URL to app.mailbox.org instead of the old office.mailbox.org and it now seems to be working. I wrote support and told them and also suggested that they make it clear to beta users that the url should be change if they think that is what is causing the sync issue. Hope that works for you too.

Thanks for that fast response. So to be clear, the only current workaround is to:

1) Click remove account in OX Drive for Windows (as there's no sign out option)

2) Sign back in to OX Drive for Windows with app.mailbox.org as the URL

If that's correct, were you able to sign back in using your Application Password username and password? Or does this only work with the standard login credentials?

Yes, I used the app-specific username and password together with app.mailbox.org. I can’t guarantee that this will fix it, but can’t hurt to try. It has synced properly on five devices for a few days now.
