Searchable mail with Inbox Encryption

After being tersly sent here to ask this question rather than MB support:

It does not say clearly in any knowledge base or user form documents whether turning on inbox, encryption of all mail breaks, searchability with mailbox, guard, or Thunderbird and other clients.

10 year customer of mailbox.org but I recently downgraded due to issues with deliverability from the service. But I am considering upgrading again if it can be a suitable replacement for protonmail paradigm.

I have Mailbox Guard configured for a few years now, and did not find any restrictions considering search. I use the Mailbox web app, Thunderbird under Linux and Fairemail on my Android Phone.

so encrypted mail that is unlocked through guard shows up when you search webmail?

does this mean that guard keeps a database of the text of all emails? i realise now that i am unaware of how the webmail facilitates searching.

have you turned on full inbox encryption?

So I tested by sending a few PGP emails to protonmail addresses. Unless there is some setting that I am unaware of, MB Guard does not allow search of PGP email, even if the encryption password is remembered for the session. If there is a setting that allows this, I would like to know, as I would switch on inbox encryption and move custom domain mail back over.

I have turned on full inbox encryption and mail that is unlocked through guard indeed turns up whit a search. I have no idea how this works technically unfortunately. Concerning your second question, I don´t send or receive PGP mails, so I can't answer that for you.
