Configure app Task and Notes with 2FA on Android
I'm looking for some help configuring the “Task and Notes” app with 2FA enabled on my account. I'm using Davx5 as my synchronization app.
I've tried the settings listed on the support page, but it doesn't work. I've tried them with the app username and password that is configured when 2FA is active, but it doesn't work. (office.mailbox.org)
I've tried changing the server parameter to the one that appears on the website when you're in the tasks section. (office-sso.mailbox.org)
I am trying to configure “Task and Notes” to see if it is possible to have recurring tasks, as allowed by the mailbox.org website.
I have managed to configure “Task.org” but it does not support task repetition with the server.
If anyone can help me from their own experience, I would greatly appreciate it.
Because I have a “light” account, I cannot ask for help from the support service.

After searching for a lot of information, I found the cause in the mailbox forums. It turns out that they have disabled task synchronisation with Exchange for application passwords. So it is not yet possible to synchronise with 2FA.

That is very disappointing. I have to say that it really irritates me that mailbox.org is lagging quite a bit behind the SOTA for logins. Unfortunately I have my family here on my own domain, so switching would be painful. Otherwise I would already have changed providers. Lets see when my frustration is big enough to do it

The Active Sync option for synchronizing tasks now appears in the application password settings.
However, the settings in the “Task and Notes” application give a 500 error, which is supposed to be from the server itself.
It seems that we are making progress with the settings when 2FA is active, but they are not quite working yet.

Today (12-09-2025) Active Sync option it's working with the app “Task and Notes”. I can synchronize task with the app.
But in Thunderbird it's not compatible with repeat task. I think the reason is Exchange Sync protocol.
