Difference between Folders in Inbox and My Folders?
Need Answer
I notice on the web app that we have a "My Folders" section in Mail. I have created several folders under my Mailbox Inbox to manage receiving mails. What is the rationale behind having a separate "My Folders" section in Mail?? Is there any particular advantage to putting folders there versus keeping them nested under the Inbox?

Was looking for this and landed here. I was trying to make a new folder while setting up a new rule. This worked, but suddenly I saw a folder under "Inbox", while I made other folders under "My Folders". Didn't know this was even possible. What's the difference indeed? Quite confusing.

Hello.
The difference is purely organisational. If you create folders under the Inbox, they are subfolders of the main ‘Inbox’ folder. If you create folders under ‘My folders’ and, for example, connect your mailbox via Thunderbird, these folders will be displayed there as separate folders on the same level as all the other standard folders (Inbox, Sent, Junk, Trash).
