Use Mail Rules to Set User-Created Categories
Proposed
It would be extraordinarily useful to be able to set user-created categories using a rule. This would allow for emails to be tagged with multiple categories to improve searching and filtering.

Yes, I cannot emphasize how useful this feature would be. I love the new categories/tags implementation, but until rules can be set to apply these as email arrives, the true power of their utility is significantly diminished, as I currently have to manually apply categories/tags to email.

Technically possible right now using a Sieve editor, but there should definitely be UI support for this.
If you point a Sieve client at imap.mailbox.org, you can see your current rules. if you create a rule for the emails you want in the UI, you can then edit it to make the action
That will set the first user-created category that you made. I would also like the feature to be available in the UI editor.
Given that the feature is already available via sieve it seems logical to also support it in the UI.
