Is it possible to use custom domain for XMPP account?

Is there a way I can use my custom domain in my XMPP address instead of my.username@mailbox.org?

According to the german KB this should be possible:
https://kb.mailbox.org/de/privat/xmpp-chat/chat-mit-xxmp-und-jabber-bei-mailbox/
But I wouldn't recommend it because of self-signed-certificates. Not sure if this has changed but their xmpp server is very outdated.
Maybe try https://account.conversations.im/domain/ (with a subdomain?).
