Confused
Proposed
Hello. Monday morning I set up a trial account. Played around for a while, read some, searched some, liked what I saw but wanted to be able to use the application so Monday afternoon I paid for the standard account. Pleased as pie.
Weirdly, today, Wednesday, I get a message:
'Your mailbox contract period ends soon'
The end of your mailbox contract period is set for 08/15/2026.
Since when is 2 months soon after 2 days?
Am I missing something?
Thanks

Hi Mark,
thank you very much for your message. Welcome to mailbox. I'm glad to hear that you are pleased with mailbox. But I understand your confusion regarding our message.
Since e-mail-addresses and accounts are so vital nowadays, we alert our customers three months, two months, one month and two weeks before the contract ends. This has nothing to do with how long your account has been active, only how long the remaining runtime of your contract is.
I hope this clears things up. If you have any further questions, please let us know.
With kind regards

Thank you, Felix. That makes perfect sense. Was just surprised to receive a renewal reminder on day 2. Now I know what to expect.
Second question:
I initially created a trial account then upgraded to monthly account that afternoon. I'll probably do the yearly thing but always 'try before I buy' where there's the option. Just in case...
I paid for my first month. How come my initial month is two months long?
Not complaining, just curious.
Many thanks
Mark
