Receiving emails only from a specific alias on an email client

For privacy reasons, I'm trying to setup a work-only machine where I would receive, on Thunderbird (or any other email client if needed), only the emails sent to the alias I have created for work-related purposes, and not everything that currently arrives in my mailbox.

Is such a configuration possible or would I unfortunately need to create a second, separate mailbox account, which would add a different set of problems?
