Exchange ActiveSync wrong password

Hello,
I’m trying to set up Exchange ActiveSync on my iPhone using the Apple Mail app. However, whenever I try to set it up using the QR code – or even manually – it tells me my password is incorrect. Yet I can set up standard IMAP + SMTP using the same password. I’m wondering how I can sort this out. Using a custom domain as my main account adress
