2fa does not appear to be working except on the web client
Published
- I set up 2fa on a new account. Logged out of the web client and then logged back in. Works as expected--authentication is required after entering my credentials, and my TOPT is requested and works. Great.
- Then I created dedicated app passwords for Thunderbird/IMAP, webdav and DAVx5.
- Thunderbird, webdav, and DAVx5 all reject the dedicated app passwords I created, but they DO accept my regular password without any issue (and without any 2fa).
It is not the expected behavior that I can log in to IMAP and DAV services with my normal password. It renders having 2fa meaningless!
Access denied
No connection
Real-time notifications may not work
I have a similar issue, only the regular password won't work either for me. As soon as I enabled 2FA DAVx5 was unable to connect with the server. That was expected, but creating an app password for the service didn't solve that. I've tried to setup the account anew without succes, not with either of 2 app passwords I created, nor with my old password, nor with the special ursername (nnnnnn@nnnnnn with n being numbers) with either of the passwords.
