Paid renewal fee. Account still has warning; Payment Overdue
Published
Hi,
I have paid my renewal fee, and received confirmation. My account still reads: Payment overdue, and I am getting warning emails. I'm on a Light Plan, so as I understand it I am no longer able to contact mailbox.org support directly. How can I get this sorted?

Hi there,
thank you for your message. Could you tell us how you paid? Sometimes bank transfers can take a little longer. We have unblocked your account so you can use it in the meantime, until your payment has been processes.
With kind regards
your mailbox team

It has been 6 days since the payment was made via bank transfer and still the mailbox is not active. In 2025 u guys have to fix this first ie manual activation for payments. Atleast in the payment phase page specify which methods take how long. I chose the top most method to pay and it seems thats the slowest. Yes, we can read how tos but a simple thing like paying for service should be self explanatory in payment UI.

For anyone reading this now with a similar problem, if you allowed your account to lapse payment before re-activating here's what's happening: I was told by customer support right now that ANY payment toward Mailbox locks you into a permanent and eternal contract, so that if you allow it to lapse for any period of time, despite not receiving paid services for that duration you will owe an "overdue" amount. It is not transparent about this, so when you make a new payment it essentially goes into the void and your account will NOT be reactivated.
"You have to pay for the lapsed days. That is part of our contract agreement that you signed."
It presents itself as if it is not a recurring subscription, when in fact it seems like it's a secret permanent one. You cannot return to a free account if you ever pay, because the 100MB storage limit isn't real anymore- if a paid account lapses, your storage becomes 0. I wiped my entire account clean just to receive emails and it still wouldn't. Really scammy and strange, I am so disappointed as I thought I finally found a good email provider.
