"Recipient address rejected: Domain not found" means there is some issue on recipient side, right?

I received this error when I tried to send an email:

The server response was: <orm@cpc.incometax.gov.in>: Recipient address rejected: Domain not found

Before reaching out to the recipient org I wanted to ensure that there is nothing I can do from my own or mailbox.org side.

This mailaddress should work. It exists.

peer@localhost ~ $ dig cpc.incometax.gov.in MX @9.9.9.9 +short
10 dcpvaegimic1.incometax.gov.in.
10 dcpvaegimic2.incometax.gov.in.

Maybe they had some issues in the past, maybe they're not set up properly. Maybe they already fixed it - but maybe you still see some glitches from a broken setup?

No they have not fixed it yet.

Okay so just to make sure I understood your response - it is some issue on their front. Right?

One update: I tried it from a Gmail address and I was able to send a test email without any issue.

I am having the same issue. NONE of my emails sent from my phone work. They all say “[“email address”] is not a valid email address and has been rejected by the server. The message has been placed in your Outbox."

I can send the same email to the same address from gmail or my other account. It also works fine from my Outlook on my computer. This only happens on my Iphone.
